From the start of 2021 to Q1 2023, the number of Paramount Plus subscribers worldwide has seen a dramatic increase. In June 2021, the streaming service counted around 21.4 million subscribers, a number that almost tripled to reach 60 million by the end of March 2023. This exponential growth has been largely driven by original content like “1923,” “Tulsa King,” and “Star Trek: Picard,” as well as franchises like “Top Gun: Maverick” and a range of sports content. Alongside this, the platform’s free ad-supported streaming service, Pluto TV, grew its monthly active users from 64 million in Q4 2021 to 80 million in Q1 2023.

In terms of revenue, Paramount Plus saw an 81% year-over-year growth from 2021 to 2022, generating $1.4 billion in the fourth quarter of 2022. Their advertising revenue also saw a significant boost, doubling in the second quarter of 2021 to reach $502 million. By Q1 2023, the revenue for Paramount Plus had increased by 65% year over year. This growth in both viewership and revenue underscores the successful collaboration between Department 5 and Neo Pangea.
